In past posts, what God gives us through His grace & mercy towards us was shared.
Justification is the topic of this post and according to Wikipedia, justification, in Christian theology, is God's act of removing the guilt and penalty of sin while at the same time declaring a sinner righteous through Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross.
In Protestantism, righteousness from God is viewed as being credited to the sinner's account through belief and faith alone in Jesus' death and resurrection, without works. In other words, no one can work their way (get) into heaven by doing good works or "being good." How I tried to be good & perfect when I was younger! I tried to "put on" something that I wasn't and didn't allow God to change me from the inside out. What good news it was to my heart when I realized I am loved just as I am and don't have to work my way into God's good graces! You don't have to work your way to heaven, either!
God says in Romans 3:22, "This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe." Therefore, we receive justification through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not through works. Paul, the author of Romans, spends a lot of time covering this topic in chapters 1-3. I encourage you to read it for yourself and send questions to AWayOfLifeMinistries.com. We'd love to hear from you!
